Michael E. Johnson, CPT
The journey of my life and my life experiences has given me the greatest joy
because it has lead me down a path of complete health and fitness. This journey
began in the early 1990's when I joined the United States Marine Corps. With
each new path of life, I soaked up new knowledge and seeking wisdom has been a
motivational quest of mine.
Today I continue my educational quest as I work to obtain a BS in Health and
Human Performance. I have always learned from my elders that it is never too
late to begin something new, or it's better late than never. I bring to the
Personal Training industry not only heart and passion, but over 10 years of
training, certification, experience and knowledge. My experiences include 4
years as a United States Marine, Certified Personal Trainer at 24 Hour Fitness
for 4 years where I not only developed fitness programs, but also developed
nutritional programs utilizing the APEX system, Division I graduate assistant
Strength and Conditioning coach at San Jose State where I had the honor of
working with a number of athletes that are presently in the NFL and MLB. Rasheed
Davis (Chicago Bears), Josh Parry (Philadelphia Eagles/Seattle Seahawks), Edell
Shephard (Tampa Bay Buc's) and Kevin Frandsen (San Francisco Giants). I was
recently a Division II assistant softball coach for the Fort Hays State Lady
Tigers where I developed their strength and conditioning program.
Physical fitness, exercise and efficiency have been staples in my life. I have
diligently studied Human Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, and Nutrition.
Specifically, I have focused on the interrelationship of these forces on fitness
and exercise. My understanding of these relationships have helped me to design
accurate, effective and comprehensive fitness programs for numerous clients
varying in age, fitness level and health.
As a United States Marine, I trained rigorously, both mentally and physically,
demanding a level of superior fitness from myself . I routinely earned near
perfect physical fitness test scores and trained with Dan when he won first
place in his weight class and overall in the Marine 1994 Mr. Mediterranean Body
Building Competition. Following my enlistment, it took me some time to adapt to
civilian life, but I quickly found my passion in the fitness industry where I
worked as a fitness instructor for a few years before moving on to the
collegiate field. My time as a Fitness Trainer came with a high level of
expectations from myself and those that I trained.
Today I look forward to helping you achieve your health and fitness goals.
